Sims Crane & Equipment Receives National Safety Recognition
Sims Crane & Equipment has been recognized by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators( CCO) as one of the top 45 employers nationwide for its commitment to safety and employee certification. The company was recently awarded CCO’ s newly introduced Employer Award.
The award honors companies that demonstrate exceptional dedication to jobsite safety by certifying their personnel through CCO programs. Sims Crane joins an elite group of employers across the U. S. that prioritize workforce training, operational safety and certification excellence.
To qualify for the award, companies had to rank among the top 45 nationwide based on the number of CCO certification candidates submitted via exam applications. The Employer Award program was created to recognize organizations that invest in preparing their teams with the skills needed to work safely and effectively.
Danfoss eHydraulic Module Powers SANY’ s 200-Tonne Electric Crawler Crane
Danfoss Power Solutions’ Editron division has delivered its first eHydraulic Power Module to SANY for use in a newly electrified 200-tonne lattice-boom crawler crane. The system, which integrates a synchronous reluctance-assisted permanent magnet motor with a variable displacement axial piston pump, optimizes hydraulic performance and efficiency.
SANY introduced the fully electric, battery-powered crawler crane earlier this year as part of its broader effort to reduce emissions from heavy construction equipment. Construction machinery is estimated to emit approximately 400 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually, according to IDTechEx, making electrification a key strategy for sustainability.
SANY has previously electrified several lower-capacity crawler crane models and is expanding electrification efforts to larger platforms. For its 200-tonne model, SANY selected the Danfoss integrated eHydraulic Power Module to power both the machine’ s traction and work functions.
The system includes the Editron PMI375-T1100 motor and a D1P 260-cc pump, engineered for peak power output and extended runtime per charge. The hydraulic configuration is further supported by a Danfoss Series 90 pump and PVG 128 valve.
By supplying the electric motor and hydraulic pump as a pre-integrated unit, Danfoss reduces installation complexity
and minimizes the risk of performance issues such as noise and vibration— challenges that can arise when using flexible couplings. The compact design and CE certification, along with Danfoss’ global support network, were cited as additional reasons behind SANY’ s choice.
Vita Industrial Unveils VLN 2.0 Intelligent Lifting System
Vita Industrial introduced the next generation of its intelligent lifting technology with the launch of the Vita Load Navigator 2.0( VLN 2.0), currently in use on a Hensel Phelps jobsite in California. Designed to meet the growing global demand for advanced lifting solutions, the upgraded system enhances safety, precision and performance on complex lifts.
The VLN 2.0 expands on the capabilities of its predecessor with a range of improvements. It features nearly double the energy capacity of the original VLN
1.0, significantly extending battery life and allowing for longer use between charges.
A redesigned control box increases rigging flexibility, accommodating a broader range of lift configurations. In GPS-challenged environments, such as dense urban areas, the system delivers more accurate performance thanks to an overhauled data fusion algorithm and advanced sensor suite. The updated design also simplifies maintenance, making it easier for operators to make on-site adjustments as needed.
Other enhancements observed on the site include the ability to charge the unit while mounted or unmounted, integrated forklift access points for easier handling and a user-friendly dual-pendant control system.
While the VLN 2.0 adds new functionality, Vita Inclinata continues to support the original VLN model with ongoing service, training and software updates. The first-generation system remains available for rental and purchase.
