Centerline Tackles Foundations with Link-Belt Precision
Centerline Drilling, based in central Oregon, is already putting the new Link- Belt 65-ton 65 | RT rough terrain crane to work on an overhead transmission line project in the small town of Lexington. The crane is being used to set rebar and anchor bolt cages into 17 drilled pier foundations for new utility structures.
The rebar cages vary in size from 8 feet in diameter by 30 feet long to 11.5 feet in diameter by 35 feet long, with some weighing as much as 16,000 pounds. The 65 | RT has been deployed throughout the project to handle these heavy components, demonstrating consistent performance across different configurations.
Centerline operator Hunter Magnan, who has experience operating a range of equipment, found the 65 | RT to be a strong fit for the jobsite’ s terrain and lifting requirements. He noted that the crane’ s smooth operation and intuitive controls contributed to efficient material placement. The crane’ s ergonomic cab layout, LED lighting and onboard technology, including Link-Belt’ s Pulse LMI system, helped support operator comfort and productivity during operations.
The 65 | RT’ s zero turning radius and maneuverability were also well-suited to the challenges of the remote jobsite, providing reliable access to multiple foundation locations without requiring extensive repositioning. According to the team, its mid-range capacity and ease of use made it a versatile option for this project phase.
