WireCo has launched OLIVEIRA Durascend, a new rotation-resistant compacted rope designed for small to mid-sized tower and mobile cranes. After a comprehensive development and testing process, Durascend is now available in diameters ranging from 8 to 19 millimeters.
Durascend is intended to replace less efficient 12- and 15-strand rotation-resistant ropes, such as LT24K and Towerlift, while serving crane applications that do not require premium options like Maxipact. It offers a balance of durability, performance and cost-effectiveness for crane operators looking to enhance productivity without overinvesting.
“ Our goal with Durascend is to deliver a high-performance rope that meets customers’ exact needs— without exceeding them— at a competitive price point. This offering represents WireCo’ s ongoing commitment to providing innovative solutions that support crane operators in optimizing performance and reducing operational costs,” said David Rowatt, senior vice president of global steel engineering for WireCo.
Durascend is targeted for use in tower cranes up to 100 meters in height and mobile cranes with capacities up to 100 tons. The rope is engineered to withstand tough jobsite conditions while maintaining operational efficiency and reliability.
With the introduction of Durascend, WireCo and its OLIVEIRA brand continue to focus on delivering practical, high-quality solutions that align with the evolving needs of the crane industry.
