Select Crane Sales is celebrating ten years in business by paying it forward
It all started in 2016 on a plastic folding table. In 2026, as they celebrate their tenth anniversary in business, Select Crane Sales is choosing to pay it forward.“ As we mark ten years in business, we’ re reflecting on the people, clients, and communities that have helped us grow,” said Jason Mackenzie, president of Select Crane Sales.“ But our tenth anniversary is about more than recognizing a company milestone. Throughout the year, we are supporting industry education and workforce development, and community organizations near each of our branches.”
Workforce development remains one of the most significant challenges facing the crane industry, Mackenzie noted.“ Cranes continue to become more advanced, which increases the need for skilled technicians, mechanics, operators, and other professionals who understand both the equipment and the technology,” he said.“ As an industry, we need to do a better job of introducing people to these careers and showing them the opportunities that exist.
“ These are highly skilled positions that require problem solving, technical knowledge, and specialized training, and those requirements will only continue to grow as technology advances.” Mackenzie continued.“ Manufacturers, dealers, contractors, and industry organizations all have a role in building awareness, supporting education, and creating career paths that encourage people to enter and remain in the industry.”
Funding The Future
While Mackenzie acknowledged that no single company can solve the industry’ s workforce challenge, Select Crane Sales is focused on several initiatives.“ We are establishing the Select Crane Sales Corporate Scholarship through the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Foundation to support people who are pursuing careers as crane technicians and mechanics,” he explained.“ Those are areas where the industry continues to face a serious need
