Liebherr Receives ESTA Award for Mobile Crane Safety Technology as load-moving drills using cranes and rigging equipment.
The center is intended to provide realworld training in a controlled and safe environment. According to CICB, the curriculum has been updated to reflect current industry practices and technological developments.
The new location is staffed by instructors with experience across several sectors of the lifting and rigging industries. The company will host an open house on May 30 that includes live demonstrations and skills exhibitions.
At the ESTA Awards ceremony on April 10 in Munich, the Liebherr Group was recognized with the 2025 ESTA Award of Excellence in the safety category for its driver assistance systems developed for mobile cranes.
The European Association for the Abnormal Road Transport and Mobile Crane Rental Industry( ESTA) grants annual awards across nine categories. This year, Liebherr became the first mobile crane manufacturer to be honored for implementing driver assistance systems designed to enhance road safety and protect vulnerable road users.
Liebherr’ s award-winning systems include the Blind Spot Information System and the Moving Off Information System, designed to support mobile crane operators in complex traffic environments.
The Blind Spot Information System uses a camera wing with two integrated digital cameras to monitor areas not visible to the operator. When pedestrians or cyclists enter the blind spot, the system provides visual and acoustic warnings to the operator.
The Moving Off Information System addresses visibility limitations directly in front of the crane, especially concerning children and other low-height individuals. Two digital cameras mounted on either side of the windshield scan the area in front of the vehicle, alerting the operator if someone is detected.
