Guardian and Twiceme Expand Digital Safety into SRLs
Guardian and Twiceme Technology have expanded their partnership to integrate Twiceme’ s digital safety technology into Guardian anchor-mounted self-retracting lifelines( SRLs), marking what the companies describe as a first for the fall protection industry. The Twiceme-enabled SRLs are expected to be available in spring 2026.
The integration builds on Twiceme’ s existing presence in Guardian’ s B7-Comfort harness and will extend across 10 Guardian SRL models. SRLs are a critical component of a personal fall arrest system( PFAS), functioning as the connecting device that allows worker movement while engaging braking mechanisms during a fall.
Twiceme-enabled Guardian SRLs range from 16 to 65 feet and are designed to provide extended working distances while stopping the user from hitting the ground or next level during a fall. With the integration, organizations can access Twiceme’ s safety management portal, which includes equipment inspection records, work documentation and Medical ID information intended to assist first responders during rescue operations.
The first Guardian SRL models to feature Twiceme include the Halo Cable Class 1 SRL, Halo Edge Class 2 SRLs, Diablo Big Block LE Cable Class 2 SRL, 3-Way Rescue & Retrieval SRL, Velocity Class 1 Cable SRL, Velocity-Edge SRL, CR3 SRL( 33-feet) and CR3-Edge SRL( 33-foot galvanized steel).
Advanced Precast Adds Shuttlelift DB50 Gantry Crane
Advanced Precast Company, Inc. has added a Shuttlelift DB50 rubber-tired gantry crane at its Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, facility as part of ongoing efforts to support production growth and material-handling efficiency.
The Iowa-based precast concrete producer operates a 70,000-square-foot facility with four casting lines, producing structural and architectural prestressed concrete products. Founded in 2008, the company has focused on operational efficiency
Caldwell Expands SmartSpec Platform With Model 85 Coil Lifter despite its relatively small footprint.
As production volumes increased, Advanced Precast identified the need for additional lifting capacity. Randy Anderson, director of operations, first encountered Shuttlelift at a trade show, which led to further discussions about gantry crane options.
The DB50 gantry crane includes features noted by operators and maintenance staff, including a spacious cab and platform layout and a low-mounted hoist design that allows access to key components from ground level or a ladder. The crane is also equipped with Shuttlelift’ s IQAN diagnostic system, which supports troubleshooting and equipment uptime.
Installation of the crane was completed with minimal disruption to daily operations. With the DB50 now in operation, Advanced Precast is positioned to manage increased production demands while maintaining existing performance standards.
The Caldwell Group Inc. has added its Model 85 motorized telescoping coil lifter to the company’ s SmartSpec digital configuration platform, expanding the range of customizable below-the-hook( BTH) lifting equipment available to distributors and customers.
SmartSpec is a web-based tool designed to help dealers configure non-standard lifting products. The platform allows users to view pricing, place orders and create customized equipment designs at any time.
The Model 85 coil lifter, one of Caldwell’ s most widely used products, is stocked in capacities up to 33 tons and offers a variety of customization options. These include higher load capacities, rotation features, load scales, indicator lights, padding, toe rollers and additional modifications.
Caldwell also recently added the Model 80H Dixon coil C-hook with pivoting wedge to SmartSpec. The C-hook allows operators to insert the wedge between stacked coils to separate them and initiate a tilt, enabling easier placement of the hook. The Model 80H is stocked in capacities up to five tons. The Model 60 heavy-duty sheet lifter is among other products already available through the platform.
According to Doug Stitt, president and CEO of Caldwell, customer demand for faster service continues to influence the company’ s digital investments.
The Model 85 coil lifter features motorized leg drive, curved lifting pads for coil protection, narrow aisle stacking capability to maximize storage space and high-impact plastic toe rollers to reduce contact with coils. Additional features include an anti-clamp limit switch to help protect loads during closing and heavy-duty torque-limiting drive protection.
Caldwell noted that additional products will continue to be added to SmartSpec, with the Model 25 twin hoist lifting beam expected to be available soon.
