EK Machine Adds Shuttlelift SL75 Gantry Crane
EK Machine, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of backup generators, fuel tanks and enclosures, has expanded its material-handling capabilities with the addition of a Shuttlelift SL75 rubber-tired gantry crane. The equipment supports the company’ s ongoing growth and its transition toward producing fully finished products.
Founded 55 years ago, EK Machine supplies power-infrastructure components to hospitals, data centers, schools and businesses across the country. Its recent expansion includes multiple facilities, among them Plant 3 in Fall River, Wisconsin, and the newly completed Plant 4 in Madison, Wisconsin.
Prior to purchasing the Shuttlelift SL75, the company sought a more flexible solution for manufacturing and storage. Leadership said construction schedules often shift, and customers are not always ready to receive completed products, which makes it necessary to safely move finished units into storage while keeping production on schedule. The gantry crane was selected to help the company adapt more quickly to changing project timelines.
The SL75’ s maneuverability and remote-control operation have improved efficiency and safety at EK Machine’ s facilities. Operators can position units closer together while maintaining required clearances, helping maximize available space. Remote operation has also reduced the number of operators needed and supported productivity gains.
Company representatives said the installation process was well-coordinated and completed quickly, with the crane operating as expected from the start. They also reported that ongoing service has been consistent, with occasional issues resolved promptly by Shuttlelift’ s support team.
The company noted that the investment in the SL75 aligns with its long-standing emphasis on craftsmanship, hands-on work and care in each project. EK Machine said the new gantry crane increases operational flexibility and strengthens its ability to meet growing customer demand while maintaining safe and efficient operations.

STUDSON has released its HighBar-equipped SHK-1 Type II safety helmet, now available for workers in construction and other heavy-industry sectors. The helmet introduces a first-of-its-kind design, replacing traditional web-splitter and ladder-buckle setups with a single polymer strap system.
The company said the chinstrap system is designed to simplify use for workers unfamiliar with conventional helmet straps, making adoption easier across industrial environments.
The HighBar structure features rigid polymer arms that pivot from the helmet brim, allowing workers to stow the system between tasks. A one-handed twist dial provides micro-adjustment even while wearing gloves, enabling active industrial workers to wear the helmet correctly without compromising comfort on the job.
The SHK-1 Type II helmet also incorporates Koroyd polymer tubes for impact absorption and ventilation, along with embedded Twiceme Technology, which allows workers to store critical medical information for emergency access.
STUDSON has added an augmented-reality try-on feature for customers evaluating the new chinstrap style before purchase.
