Dawes takes delivery of new Link-Belt Cranes.
New Link-Belt Cranes Available for Rent at Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental
Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, a member of the ALL Family of Companies, is taking delivery of two new Link-Belt cranes, as part of a larger package than previously announced.
This includes a Link-Belt HTC- 80100XL truck crane and Link-Belt RTC-8065 II rough terrain crane, both available for rent now.
The HTC-80100XL truck crane is a strong, versatile machine prized for its 100-ton capacity and 164-foot power boom.
“ It packs a lot of the same punch as an all-terrain crane, but with a much smaller footprint,” Ryan Harrison, Dawes’ general manager, said.
“ It’ s compact and road-ready, plus has great swing speeds.”
Harrison expects it to be in high demand in varied sectors, including steel erection, HVAC and construction work such as pouring concrete, truss work and erecting wood-framed pole buildings, among others.
Grove Upgrades All-Terrain Crane to GMK6450-1
Grove has unveiled the GMK6450-1, an upgraded version of its GMK6400-1 all-terrain crane, in response to customer demand for increased capacity. The new model boasts a maximum capacity of 450 tons, a 50-ton increase over its predecessor, solidifying its position as the strongest six-axle crane available.
“ Over the past two years, we have seen a growing demand for a name change from our global customer base. We reviewed the crane’ s performance, which resulted in a new model, the GMK6450-1,” explained Andreas Cremer, vice president product and project management for mobile cranes at Manitowoc.
The GMK6450-1 features the MAXbase variable outrigger positioning system, which improves load charts and allows for asymmetrical setups. This upgrade, along with the capacity-boosting MegaWingLift, enables the crane to lift heavy loads efficiently, making it particularly suitable for wind power projects.

“ I’ m honored that Carol [ former Heaton owner / CEO ] is trusting us to continue this legacy of what a great company Heaton is, and I don’ t take that lightly,” Patrick Lewis, CEO of Superior Rigging & Erecting Co., said.“ We have two phenomenal brands in the Atlanta market and with us combining the potential of what can be is limitless.”
Heaton’ s customer base will see the benefits of Superior’ s deep rigging history and gain access to turn-key services such as steel fabrication, millwrighting and more storage space near downtown Atlanta.
