Manitowoc unveils Europe’ s largest tower crane.
Manitowoc Launches Potain MDLT 1109
Manitowoc has unveiled the Potain MDLT 1109, a 40-ton capacity low-top tower crane, marking the largest ever Potain tower crane for the European market.
The MDLT 1109 addresses a growing demand for high-capacity cranes in Europe, driven by the European Union’ s NextGenerationEU stimulus package, which invests heavily in energy and transport infrastructure. Additionally, the rise of prefabrication in construction, which requires cranes capable of handling larger and heavier elements, has further highlighted the need for robust lifting solutions.
The Potain MD 1100, launched over two decades ago, set a precedent for strength and reliability in major projects. However, customer needs have evolved. Today’ s customers demand flexible configuration, simplified transport and efficient erection to minimize public disruption and expedite project timelines.
